The journey with God and about faith is different for everyone.
It begins or blossoms at different times in life, for different reasons. Many later generations find little base for the relevance of faith or God in their life, despite good parental attempts in some situations. We are a broken, not perfect world, and no movie or book or spoken word by itself changes that, it only begins the change or opens the door, as God intended to strengthen a relationship with Him. I am in favor of any of presentation of faith struggle that might bring about someones' thoughts and investigation into bible study or pastoral counseling or self commitment to understand more about God's plan. Sometimes that includes other faiths, unhappy circumstances, and many other less than perfect personal growth experiences.
Whatever brings someone to God or greater yearning for faith knowledge and the human experience with God is a good thing, even if the circumstances may be devastating, or a simple movie or book premise. I struggled to understand the movie message, but concluded that faith may not be enough, unless love and hope are also part of the process.
