Forgettable songs, mediocre cast (not a single actor outshone the original cast of Mean Girls), weak lead, unoriginal and hard cuts which ruin any sort of artistry or pacing. I had high hopes for this and love musicals... It's bad. Re-watch the original. It's hard to find a positive... Maybe the added social media scenes, but that's about it.

Watching an anime I grew up with as a kid being adapted so well is truly heartwarming. This is proof that live adaptations can work if the original creators are involved and the source material is respected. Dragonball Evolution broke my heart but this show is restoring some hope for how manga content is treated in the future. Fantastic cast, cinematography, set design and music. It may be rushed in places and the pacing is a bit off, but it's still an incredible adventure. 9.5/10
