If you love historical accuracy, you won’t be happy. Not much character development beyond Robin and the Loxleys. But thoroughly enjoyable nonetheless. Went in with lower expectations and was pleasantly surprised. Acting was mostly on point if you can forgive straying accents with some really good performances as well. Scenes were detailed and beautiful. Not just CGI soup. Worth a watch!

If you've read the books, you're probably going to be disappointed. Too much mythos in 7 books to try to transform into a screenplay. The action was hollow without a tight, well-conceived plot with good character development. Matthew McConaughey, normally a great actor, was uninspired. The only redeeming quality was Idris Elba as Roland.
