It's pretty clear the production is invested in retaining Prof. Tolkien's early plodding pace but also his rich visual history and layered iconography. Really enjoying the casting, the cinematography and prop work. Excellently sidestepping the glaring color typing racism of original source material, it remains to be seen how the production will handle the dated gender roles of the Tolkienverse. I am looking forward to a several seasons long, speed increasingly heightened deeper dive into Tolkien's Second Age
