I watched in horror that the miners were dying for just trying to feed their families.The fact that coal is still used as a fuel in a world of options in the 21st century is mind boggling.When the coal is burned the particulates are distributed in the air for everyone to be affected. We should replace the energy produced by coal and shut down the mines. I think Nuclear power plants in coal country would replace the income lost by the miners and replace the energy in a safe manner.
