Unbelievable plot about a banker surviving through all the highs and lows in a rehabilitation center. The film’s concept somehow similar to the bible on how god brings hope to our world, likewise the main character on this movie brings hope to a bleak community lacking hope in their life. One aspect I love in this movie is how the main character set up his escape in the end of the movie and as the title of the movie said, “redemption” to all of those who done wrong to him throughout the movie. The narration by Morgan Freeman is fabulous and the direction of the movie is memorable. I was pretty upset when I discover this movie didn’t win any Academy Awards in 1994, but it is pretty obvious why it didn’t win due to it’s name and the competition in 1994 consisting of movies like Forrest Gump and Pulp Fiction which were also bangers in it’s time. All in all, I highly recommend watching this movie and I will guarantee this movie will be in your top 3 most perfect movies’ list.
