Nothing remarkable was stated in this novel. Almost everything said can be traced back actual Black scholars and academics who dedicate their education and craft to produce insightful and profound information and perspective about race relations in America. Not to mention the irony of how this journalist displays a white saviour complex that led to colonialism and racism in the first place. Why did he as a white person have to put on black face in order to bring insight about race relations as if Black people’s years of experiences, academic papers, blogs, videos, music and other forms of media have not done a fair better job than this disgrace of a novel? The mental disconnect to not recognise the white saviourism in this ‘project’ is insane. Shame on the author and the publishing house.
