Like! I absolutely ADORE the markings/patterns on Mikey, Leo and Donnie(and think that Raph should have got some cause it ain’t fair), I absolutely ADORE the mystic powers plus the weapons, sure, it makes no sense with just general ninjutsu but hell, it’s still really cool so i excuse it. Despite the fact they all look different, I kinda like the contrasting species but it’s not a solid like but I won’t count that as a dislike. I really LOVE Mikey overall. He’s super cute, his personality is exactly the same as all his other versions, it’s adorable how clingy and huggy he is. Mikey is a huge positive! I also like the shell designs!
Didn’t like! I REALLY hated how they look different. It ruins the whole-entire concept of the original franchise alongside how they were biological brothers. Yes, they could be step or half brothers in this world but the original purposely made them look the same because they were all of identical species as full blood-related and since they’re TURTLES, they can’t really look different without species coming in as they are NOT humans. There is NO way these four are all full-brothers… sadly. Btw, once again no offence but just saying, If you can’t tell Raph from his brothers without his colour and/or weapon, you don’t know him. The brothers have very different personalities and another way to assign Mikey as Mikey is through his personality, not just his coloured bandana. You don’t need new appearances to be able to tell them apart. Anyway, back to this, I am a HUGE Leo stan and I HATE what this show did to him. Leo was a honourable, polite, loving and responsible young man in all the versions. One that tried to improve and grow FOR his beloved brothers, rather how much he fought with Raph over whatever he did as the “leader”. Leo would never be like this cause it doesn’t fit him. Leo can’t possibly be a unlikeable, uncaring, and reckless narcissist. Reckless doesn’t fit Leo! Reckless does fit Raph. And the fact this show made Raph the controlling, responsible-driven, cautious leader is just tasteless. Sure, this Raph is still hot-headed at times but he’s more calm and less headstrong than every other version, and that’s ruins Raph cause he was unique for how much he was trying to channel his anger and work with his brothers, then just being the typical controlling being. I also really hate what they did to Splinter. Splinter, even if he liked his shows, always put his children and their needs over his own. That’s what made Splinter a incredible person, he was willing to die to keep his children safe in the first ever movie of TMNT. The fact this Splinter is a neglectful prick that only cares for his children when there is a serious danger or something benefits him is more than disgusting. I can’t stand this Splinter, how unlikeable. I hate him. Another. What’s with the whole human father, grandmother and etc family arc thing. It’s weird, cause it makes no sense. The creators of this show is aware that the original turtles weren’t humans at first, right… they were just baby turtles that swam in a strange ooze and started mutating. They have any family connection besides each other as brothers, and the original franchise never went into their past. It was just about how they’re badass ninja boys nowadays. So, basically. They didn’t need to make the human family concept thing. Cause the idea of that doesn’t fit with the concept of this franchise.
Overall, this show does have flaws but it’s goofy and fun, and cute. So I say it’s pretty good. 4/5! :D
