This movie shaped who I am. Mike Myers 2003 Cat In the Hat is my main formative memory. From its ahead of time humor, to cutting edge social commentaries, The Cat In the Hat (2003) Ft. Mike Myers is everything a movie wants to be and more. Once you look past the initially confusing main plot, the sub plot and true meaning emerge. This is a story of love, loss, war, and deception. Joan Walden and Mike Myers Cat In the Hat play the roles of a God's twin flame. One seeks perfection, acceptance, and organization, well the other longs for chaos, freedom, and self expression. Caught in a yin-and-yang like battle, the two never meet but are in a constant tug of war mentally. But there is something afoot... Larry Quinn, the deceptive jobless manipulator represents the devil. He lead Joan to believe he has it all, and attempts to lead her astray. However, God's other half sees this deception and tries to bring her back to her calling. Ms Kwan is an angel of sorts, carrying the children to God and using her body as a boat to sail to safety. Filling the role of humanity are the children, caught in the crossfire of all three. Their pet dog is representative of hope. Given to us by God, hope is frail and unpredictable. It can sometimes fear new growth, and the devil attempts to snatch it from our hands. In a struggle between man, god, and the devil, hope must be found in purgatory (the club). However.. That is when another angel (Paris Hilton) can be seen and reignites hope for God. Powered by the hope of his followers, Mike Myers Cat In the Hat (God) outwits the devil and snatches hope back for humanity. As the house (earth) is left in ruin due to humanities foolishness, Ms Kwan (Angel) uses her human form to guide them to safety. Humanity must sacrifice its self in order to save the earth, and only then will they find peace. Left in the rubble of their greed, the humans mourn. Yet god steps in to save them. He cleanses the earth of our sins and starts us anew. Now, bestowed with the knowledge of both creation and deception, humanity has a chance to change. The other half of god returns as the cat disappears for now. We are left with a choice. With the devil expelled from this earth, will we choose a world of peace? Or a world of ruin.... 10/10 would recommend. It taught me how to hope. Thank you 2003 Cat In the Hat.
