Could have been a good film without the exceedingly cheesy emotional camera shots and child like racial angle. Like it was written by a first year film school student trying to follow a formula they don't understand. There were a few good action scenes...

The resilience of the human spirit

The amount of candles used in one scene would be the equivalent of 100 mens salary for a year, I probably know too much about the era for me to appreciate this movie. It is a fine story though.
