In 1977 I was an 11 year old kid sitting in a cinema...when an impossibly huge Star Destroyer flew over my head, and that was it....my love of cinema and Star Wars was born.
Then....in 2024, I sat and watched the first episode of The Acolyte. My fears of Disney taking over the franchise deepening.
It was bad....truly awful....never mind, I'll give episode 2 a go. They will turn it around....but no, with an inevitable predictability... it got worse.
C'mon I said, keep the faith and try episode 3.
I managed 10 minutes of it before giving in. I will not be watching anymore.
I feel my childhood joy slowly dying, The Acolyte is so so bad.
So...Disney...if you're listening, you have the second season of Andor (the best they've done) to pull this back.
Stop ruining the franchise and accept that your target base is not 6 years of age.
Acolyte...utter utter garbage, avoid at all costs.
