I was not aware that Cyrus was bested in battle by a woman! After watching the movie I looked in to “real” history of Tomiris and was surprised or…really not so surprised I had never heard her name before!

A wonderful movie about family….hard times….regret and reconciliation! Jane Seymour placed both parts beautifully! Meeting the family in her dreams helped her family to overcome their challenges. Seymour’s husbands role was a bit thinly written…but it turned out to be a really good family movie! It was nice to see Hume Cronyn, a very gifted actor!

This is one of my most favored movies! I don’t know when I first saw it, perhaps in my early teens. I am now in my mid 60s. I just watched it again this evening 3/2022. I believe I saw something I never noticed before……I believe Lermontov died at the end!!! I tried looking for other references to this fact, but could not find any! When he is sitting in the balcony at the end, he lets out one gasp as he slumps back against the wall and his eyes “glass” over. Has anyone else noticed this! What do you think?
