CDPR should be proud of their hard work here. Cyberpunk 2077 is absolutely glorious in all its spectacle and whenever I enter the game, my breath is taken away.
Very impressed with the motion capture they've done. The animations are very natural and fit seamlessly within the game world making the NPCs feel alive. Voice acting seems excellent so far, and the soundtrack is pretty good, although I wish we had some more Bladerunner influence in it.
That being said, I've encountered several visual bugs; the worst of which was two NPCs sitting in the same chair clipping through each other, but absolutely nothing game breaking of any kind. Performance seems alright, but even on a RTX 3090 at 3440x1440p with ultra RT and DLSS Performance mode, I've seen the fps dip into the mid 40's several times. It sucks, but I'll end up turning down some settings anyway. It's always possible that the ultra settings are more of a future proof just like Rockstar did with the RDR2 PC port.
Once they iron out the visual bugs and optimize the performance a little more, this will be one of the best open world games ever created. Bugs can be fixed, but bad gameplay cannot.
(Although it looks like the base PS4 and Xbox One got screwed over...yikes!)
EDIT: After playing the game further, I have decided to take off a star mainly for the AI, or the lack thereof. At surface level, the game feels very alive and dense, but once you hone in on the NPCs in the world, you'll discover that all they do is just wonder around aimlessly. Disappointing since CDPR kept playing up the NPC schedules and the day and night cycle. I don't think the NPCs in cars even have AI...seems like they're literally just driving a predetermined path...
That and there are other things where they clearly cut corners like the apartment having no utility, no way to customize your character after the beginning, can't interact with most things in the world, and the lifepath not mattering as much as they made it seem. Thankfully, most of this can be fixed, so for now it's a 3.5 out of 5.
