Dark but sumptuous. I’d go for the architecture and music! Acting is spot on.

I’m biased because I love this period of history. The story is gobsmacking violent and unbelievable, except that it’s true. The production, acting, locations, camerawork, etc are excellent. There is 2019 relevance because Scotland is being dragged out of Europe by England and there is a strong possibility there could be a split between the countries. Suggest some reading for non-British viewers to try to understand it.
