Not a huge fan of Viking movies (aside from How to Train a Dragon but I'm not sure if that counts). Figured I'd give this movie a shot because of the IMDb rating.. It felt very long, maybe there was deeper meaning to the context/scenes/characters but I didn't enjoy it so I didn't bother to try understanding it further. Fight scenes are pretty slow paced, felt like the acting was surprisingly poor for a lot of characters too.
For the story.. not sure why they let the son run off in the first place, and lucky for him he grew into 6'4 tank.. that let's himself pretend to be a slave so he could kill his uncle. And rather kill him in the multiple opportunities he had... he does things slowly to drag out the movie. Then I doubt it was his intention.. but seems to let himself be caught so the uncle had the opportunity to kill him but doesn’t so they can have a lame ending fight scene.
Was debating whether to give it a 1 star but even though I was hoping for it to get better and it didn't.. I did finish it. There was a twist and the wife/mom was pretty crazy..
