This was indeed a fantastic, well acted period series. Almost perfect writing but, not quite. The villain- dominated scenes were intense, thought-provoking and clever. I had to binge watch this series because waiting for the next episode was torture. The main characters acted with precision and depth and, the male lead was superb. Crossover material. The world needs to know this talent. Seriously, where has he been hiding? Male lead was quite handsome and, that beard took him over the edge! Female character had very tough dialogue to salvage. Often she relied on over drama to cover for the lack of dialogue. There were missed opportunities to express her feeling and thoughts but they used uncomfortable silences too much. Female seemed a bit lack luster and unemotional when compared to the male lead. I found her character not three dimensional enough but the actress portraying this character did a phenomenal job with what she was given. Ending was confusing and left too many unanswered questions. These lovers deserved a better outcome. Despite a few holes, I have to admit this series captivated me. Yup, I allowed myself to be corny. Well done but to the writers, don’t be afraid to give the audience exactly what they want. You have us for 16 episodes. Best thing you can do is give us and the main characters an ending worth talking about for time to come!
