Not since the third Dundee movie has there been a more offensive characterisation of Australians generally - in this case made worse by crassness for no discernible reason. Clearly written by someone who has never met more than two people from Darwin or lived in a small town. The only multi dimensional character, Dulcie, seems as though she is accidentally walking around the wrong set having left a much better quality production. The Eddie character is simply a mash up of every Australian caricature shoe horned into a female character with dialogue torn straight from a red wing Facebook thread. What most disappointing are the glints of talent, a beautiful setting, an interesting plot all ruined by some of the worst character development in Australian content in recent years coupled with a tick a box approach to diversity that lacks any authenticity. Frustratingly bad given the potential.
