I have read the books over the last few years and just finished watching the first season of the tv series. I have really enjoyed the books for the incredible character development and originality. Part of the brilliance from the books is the patience that the plot can be developed with. This is afforded by their length - a luxury the tv series doesn’t have. However I think the tv show does find its own way to reveal the world of the wheel and the characters and themes in it. It does this in some ways similarly to the original art and in some ways by changing timings or behaviours in a way that I was surprised by but happy with. It is clear there are some budget restraints and as a big fan of the books I was a little disappointed by that. Though overall I’m still very happy and looking forward to season two. The wheel wills…
