Three stars, only because there was too much emphasis on same sex relationship drama, which sometimes, can make one lose interest if it's always from and center in every episode. Maybe, focus more on each character's back story because that's how the team comes together. Even Maxine had to be driven in that direction just to shine in the sport that she loves? Come on!

Growing up, I read Barbara Cartland novels and such until I graduated into historical fiction by the likes of Philippa Gregory and then, biographies, Of course, these were all for entertainment but the documentaries would always balance what we thought was fiction from fact Such that I truly appreciate shows like Becoming Elizabeth by Anya Reiss. While one is entertained by all the drama, one can only imagine what really went on for real in the lives of these historical figures.

I love historical drama particularly biopics. I was once obsessed with the story of Russia's royal family, the Romanovs, particularly the mystery of Anastasia. This series was an added bonus to my own readings about them and how much of an influence the monk, Rasputin had on the Czarina Alexandra. I would've loved recommending this to younger viewers and history buffs, but the R+rating because of the sex scenes were not suitable for them.
