The Girl With All The Gifts is a solid film, to put it simply. I’m usually not into zombie movies purely because I find them to be a little bit bland after a while, but this movie provides a fresh spin on the genre and makes it interesting to watch. The characters aren’t super one-dimensional, though not all of them are memorable, which I personally don’t have a problem with because the ones that are are very much so. I enjoy the lore more than anything. It’s a concept that I haven’t seen in movies of this genre. It’s not expanded on too much, but it explains it just enough for it to make sense while also leaving you thinking. The actual plot has a few problems, though. The ending is a little bit weird and doesn’t fully leave you satisfied, and the characters make some dumb choices just for the sake of plot, though that’s to be expected in just about any movie, isn’t it? Overall, it’s good. It’s got a good amount of action, and it’s very good at piquing the audience’s interest as we learn more about the lore. 4/5.
