The scene where the Capitol police overtake District 11 in the uprising following Rue's death mirrors the current day police actions taken (upon order of the President of the United States) to use gas and rubber bullets against peaceful protesters and the media to clear the streets to allow him to get a photo-op with a bible in front of a church.
