First of alI it was a brilliant movie.
I had always been interested in the 2018 Kerala floods, the natural disaster that devastated the state and brought out the best in its people. I was curious to see how the film industry would portray this event and its aftermath. So when I heard that there was a film called 2018 – Everyone is a Hero, directed by Jude Anthany Joseph and starring some of the finest actors of Malayalam cinema, I decided to watch it in a theatre.
I booked my tickets online and reached the theatre half an hour before the show. The theatre was packed with people who were eager to see the film. The film started with a disclaimer that it was based on real events and characters, but some fictional elements were added for cinematic purposes. The film then introduced the main characters, who belonged to different walks of life and regions of Kerala.
The film showed how their lives were affected by the floods, and how they faced the challenges and dangers with courage and compassion. The film also showed how the people of Kerala united to help each other, regardless of their caste, religion, or political affiliation. The film depicted the heroic deeds of the fishermen, the army, the police, the volunteers, and the common people who risked their lives to save others.
The film was a gripping and emotional experience, with a lot of realistic scenes and dialogues. The cinematography was stunning, capturing the beauty and the horror of nature. The music was soulful and uplifting, enhancing the mood of the film. The performances were outstanding, especially by Tovino Thomas, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Aparna Balamurali, Kalaiyarasan, Kunchacko Boban, Lal, and Narein. They made me feel their pain, fear, hope, and joy.
