Herman Dune

I’ve read this book countless times. It’s been in my mind since I was 14, and became part of my body reflexes. When I’d get scared , I’d say the Lithany against Fear, I’d ask my parents to call me Muad’Dib, and heck, my Nom De Plume is Herman Dune. It’s part of my life. Now I must say, Dune Pt.2 has everything . I’m probably the nerd a director’s nightmares are made of, and still, I can’t think of one thing I missed. I even think the political charge is better in the film, less simplistic. The character of Jessica is perfect, it’s the key to understanding it all. Shani, Paul, Gurney, Irulan, all as great as in the book. The major addition , I think, in this adaptation is HUMOR. It’s so good to laugh watching Dune! I would never have guessed! Stilgar as a fanboy is hilarious, I love it so much! And the scene where Paul tames Shai Hulu’s is amazing, breath taking! I love Dune 2! I even think that’s its great that Dune 1 is a little slow and takes the time, so that Dune 2 can shine even stronger!!! PS: the CG Muad’Dib is the cutest animal!

Zero stars. How do three great actors get involved in such a disaster? Voice over one-liners set the tone from the start: No one had anything to say when they wrote this movie.
