Loved this movie.
The suspension of disbelief is on steroids and had me totally consumed in the characters and storyline.
The intensity of Kellor in his quest to find his daughter using raw violence and torture techniques to elicit information from Alex contrasted with measured charm and guile with Holly.
The silence of Alex even under extreme torture signified a deeper disturbing story to come.
The two separate but parallel investigations ... the detective working within the constraints of the system ....juxtaposed against the father taking the law into his own hands relying on wit, desperation, observation, intelligence, determination and instinct.
The woman who was questioned and her reflection on how when her son disappeared then describing how there was no closure..no body...no ending.
The disjointed relationship of detective and father while they reconcile to the extent they both were led to the scene of the crime but contrasting reasons. The detective iaccidental discovery of the crime scene while the father clear eyed and deliberate.
The moral if anything is how complemtary their efforts were if only in our imaginations.
The signifier of the pink whistle was beautifully crafted into bringing the detective and father together.
