The Last Jedi was just as complex, if not, more than any previous live-action Star Wars movies so far (i'm particularly looking at you TESB). Not only it explores it's characters and conclude each of them with a changed philosophy of how the galaxy works from now on and a sense of personal growth, but also deepen the idea of The Force. How it's original goal is, how it's supposed to be used, and how it works. It also blurs the line between good and bad, something that hasn't been done before in any corner of the franchise so far. And the last but not least, it balances the heritage of the long-going franchise with some old lessons and foregoing it's future in the hands of the new ones in a very raw way. It didn't hold back on it's cliche formula and structure. It took risks, something that i truly appreciate from Rian. The movie as it's entirety was boldly unsettling, yet surprisingly right, and philosophically enriching to it's own respective franchise.
