This is one of the greatest books I have ever read and I commend the author for her creation. Its composition is masterful, greater than Shakespeare, and the amount of knowledge I amassed simply from reading this book as a wee child could never be beaten. I have never learnt anything in a more engaging and creative way, even in my 56 long years on this unforgiving earth.
I pray to god thanking him every day for this book, hoping it is never lost to the harsh and continuous vacuum of time. Every day I wake up and check it still exists. Thank you PRince of Peace. Following are some of my thoughts about this god given novel.
The first-person perspective of this book gave it a personal tone that connected with the reader. This is seen in the use of personal pronoun "I" throughout the book, conveying a sense of realness, for lack of a better term. Another great element of this book is the recount, diary-styled writing. This expanded on the personal tone created by the perspective, communicating the genuine perspectives, emotions and opinions of characters.
One thing this could have improved upon was using relevant vernacular. It would be amazing to see this written in the original Scots Gaelic (my native tongue ๐๐จ๐ณ) or French/English of the time, to increase the accuracy. As for concerns about accessibility, if children want to learn about Mary Queen of Scots they can learn the language too.
As for the author, I don't know anything about you but if you ever find yourself in the small Scottish town of Killin, hmu and we can grab a pint. I'm not a social person but I'll make an exception for you. Maybe you could come back to mine, you never know with these things.
