If surreal literature is not your taste, then this book is not for you. Same happened with me. Read recently after hearing a lot about it, but to be honest Kafka didn't really impress me.
Most of the readers have already summarized the story in the review section, so wouldn't want to talk more about it and give out any spoilers. However, as a reader the experience was quite underwhelming for me. Felt as if there were quite a few loose ends in the story and some of the characters were abruptly ended. Lots of questions were left unanswered and before you know, the book ends. But probably that is how surreal literature works and am more of a biographies and history kind of guy, so it didn't really appeal to me.
