Easily the worst 2K out of an already garbage franchise.
It seems that 2K has been getting worse and worse every year.
My career - the creativity of making a my player build feels gone. I feel I can only be good at one thing and then mediocre or garbage at pretty much every other stat.
Also the AI is very buggy, players are constantly teleporting and the ball will pass right through my hand and body sometimes. Also the progression system is unbelievably slow, I have played for months now and am only just above 70 overall without buying VC.
It is very disappointing to see all this in a game that says it is the ‘most realistic’ NBA game, when 2k10-20 are all more realistic than it.
My Team - it is basically copy and paste from 2k23. That is really all I have to say. The only difference really is the side quests and player cards.
My league - the progression speed is so slow towards the middle to end of the season, again it is also a copy and paste of 2k23, there is no originality and the gameplay is incredibly boring. The trade system is also very buggy, a team will offer me a trade i decline so i can look it over, and then when i offer the same trade to them in the same day they don’t want to do it, i can offer them a first round pick with it and they still don’t want to do it. Also it feels like it is nearly impossible to resign All-Star level players unless you offer them a max contract. And I find high level players like Tatum, Giannis, LeBron, Luka and heaps others on new teams all the time because they sign with different team, which in most cases is highly unrealistic.
The neighbourhood - also a copy of 2k23, it seems they will copy everything from the last 2K, (which could explain all the bugs in 2k24) and then only change the story and layout of the city. And get this, they added a battle pass… a way to take even MORE money out of your pocket.
Play now and Blacktop - this is probably the only part of the game I can enjoy playing with my friends and family, because I can play as an NBA team against someone else or I can create different rosters and play as them which is pretty fun, but after a few games everyone gets bored, so it only lasts a little while.
Conclusion - this game is just a cash grab, making sure everywhere you go there is a transaction you can make to spend money on the game, it is incredibly buggy and is one of the most unrealistic NBA 2K games to date. It is an abomination of a sports game and is disrespectful to put Kobe Bryant on the cover, I would even find it disrespectful if they put Brian Scalabrine let alone any NBA player on the front cover of this game. But this is just my opinion, and from what I have seen online already it seems a lot of people agree with this opinion.
