Honestly, really couldn’t have cared less for this book. My first read from Jodi, and probably my last. It screamed privilege and if we’re going to have a book set in Egypt, this could’ve been the perfect opportunity for a poc protagonist. Felt like a drag and the dialogue… please don’t even get me started on how clunky it felt. Dawn was so unentertaining and was very unlikeable in my opinion. Would not recommend this book, which is sad, because I love history and learning more about the history of different countries and such. Wish there was more to offer.
