I was really excited to watch this movie since it’s first trailer released. But unfortunately the movie is just a drag. There were no strong characters to support the central character. In the second half I really felt if I were at home and I was watching it over television, I would have switched it off long long back. The period dramas are hard to pull off. Where movies like Padmavat and Jodha Akbar will just engross you with acting, characters and sets, unfortunately Manikarnika could not take me back to the grand battle of Jhansi. The sets were weak, cinematography was poor and there were just some terrible songs and dialogues. I wasn’t emotionally involved but Kangna did act well. But too much of her all over the place threw me off. I would rate it 2/5
