This is just my #1 FAVORITE FILM of all time by Disney.
Who wouldn’t love to watch a film that our inner child will enjoy once again? This iconic and classic musical Disney film was creatively done by the amazing directors John Musker and Ron Clements, and released in 2009, set in the beautiful landscapes of New Orleans. This comforting film focuses on the beloved protagonist Tiana, a hardworking waitress who dreams of opening a restaurant of her own. However, her plans stalled once she transformed into a frog after kissing one who introduced himself as Prince Naveen of Maldonia who was cursed by an evil witch doctor, Dr. Facilier. With that, the two embark on a long journey to find Mama Odie, a voodoo priestess who can magically reverse them back to humans. The time they had amidst their journey allowed them to learn about each another, and their past, and soon established a better perspective of one another and their differences.
Despite the comedic, romantic, and musical scenes of this magnificent film, its plot teaches us one main lesson: with a strong will to commit, determination, and hard work, everybody’s efforts will pay off as they achieve their potential goals, dreams, and desires in life. We must take our time to dig a little deeper to find out who we are as a person because once we do, we will be able to realize the things we need in life — and how we shouldn’t immediately let ourselves be affected and announce defeat by the unfortunate events life decides to throw at us. We can see this through Tiana. Despite her being rejected her proposal to start her restaurant, she is still determined to chase after her dreams — which she successfully meets by the end of the film. Another great takeaway from this beautifully executed animated film is that we always have the chance to climb back up our stairway to success when we’ve been pulled down.
