I'm old enough to recall how popular "Star Wars" became all across the world in 1977. The world watched with fascination as a magnificent, fanciful adventure unfolded in space. This was no mere visual feast with elaborate special effects; rather, it was a triumphant telling of a straightforward Shakespearian tale of a small amount of good triumphing against a vast amount of evil. It was and still is the pinnacle of George Lucas's work; some may argue that "Empire Strikes Back" is superior, but the original remains the best.
