I haven’t watched The Daily Show for years, but got excited about Jon Stewart’s return. After watching tonight…I won’t be watching The Daily Show again.

I thought this movie did an excellent job of showing how those afflicted by drug use and mental illness, struggle with choosing reality, and functioning in society. I worked for years as a nurse caring for those with mental illness, I also have a son who has schizophrenia. I have seen first hand, the symptoms; disorganized thinking, somatic complaints, delusions of grandeur, drug abuse, and more, brilliantly depicted in this movie. I hope it will be seen by more people, and at least start a curiosity about its message.

A beautiful movie that puts a new twist on melodrama. Hard to watch The heartbreaking performances at times, but that really adds to the beauty of the story.
