The story is believable and a good sequel plot in theory, but the execution wasn't great. The characters were interesting, but the writing was obviously geared toward a younger audience. The nostalgic elements were there and easy to identify.
I just can't get over the awkward dialogue delivered by the classic characters. Almost everything they said seemed forced and unnatural. It's as if they were trying too hard at fan service.
It was a decent story and a nice nod toward the predecessors, but execution was lacking.
