During the 80s, when there were only a few channels on Cable TV for you to choose from, there was Showtime, and this movie came on one Friday or Saturday night after I got back from town. I sat down with my bag of chips and my 2-liter Dr. Pepper and jammed to the soundtrack of this movie. This would have been around 1988, as the movie was released in 87. I was around 17 in 88, and I loved extreme metal, and still do today. And this soundtrack is beyond your typical soundtrack.
This movie is not for everyone, and I agree with "Nicole Noel" that the movie starts with the murder of the girlfriend, and we already know who did it, which makes you wonder what the plot is all about.
OK, I'll give you the PLOT of this 80s metal movie.
It is about friendship and doing anything for your friends. No matter what the issues are, you are always there for your friends.
At least, that is what I took from it back then.
Though, I wanted that Sorry a** to die when I first saw the movie, as I HATE when a girl is hurt or killed in a movie, and seeing that at the beginning pissed me the hell off, so. I wanted him dead.
Anyway, I am sitting down on 11-29-2023 and watching this movie for the first time since I saw it in 89. I can't wait for the music to kick in.
Enjoy everyone.
===UPDATE===
While researching the movie's characters, I discovered that it is loosely based on a true crime.

----------
While the screenplay is fiction, it draws from the November 3, 1981, murder of Marcy Renee Conrad, who was raped and strangled by Anthony Jacques Broussard in Milpitas, California. Broussard bragged about the crime, showing the body to at least 13 different people; despite this, the crime went unreported for two days.
