It's a very high-quality and a very well-made film. Glenn Close is compelling in a remarkable performance and Michael Douglas is way too good in a meticulously nuanced performance. The last 10 mins were a letdown. 9.5/10.

Immaculate script and brilliantly directed by Wilder. The way they speak the dialogues in the movie is so fast...is what is so annoying...and how much Hollywood owes to Marlon Brando and the likes of Montgomery Clift and James Dean for bringing in 'The Method' and making it easy. 9.5/10

One of the best films I've ever seen. The visuals and the cuts are exceptional. The movie belongs to Celia Johnson and what an incredible screen presence is her's! Way ahead of it's time and a gold medal film from David Lean. 10/10.

Few good scenes. Almost in every shot, Kevin Costner is smoking a cigarette, and that too with a little boy sitting next to him. The writing and the casting were a let down. Wonder why Clint Eastwood and Laura Derne are in this movie! 5/10

Fantastic movie! Well-written and well-directed! The Kabaddi scene and the following interval block standout for its amazing picturization and brilliant stunt choreography!

Tears kept flowing scene after scene. The Captain (his soul shaking) confronting the little Ernst who has collapsed after his twin Werner was blown by a twin mine, is the most heartbreaking scene ever. Exceptional. Brilliant. Nerve-wracking. 100/100

When even the little characters stay longer in the mind, that's when one feels the movie is a stand-out success! Lifetime performance from Vijay Deverekonda! His range and intensity is just breathtaking to watch, and Rahul Ramakrishna as his friend, has a lion's share as well in a meaty role, performed brilliantly with an effortless ease that even seasoned actors may fail to match. A doctor, especially one with such a clear conscience and a powerful attitude towards life, consumes alcohol before performing an operation...much like an athlete taking drugs before an event?! That's where the characterization falls flat and it falls on other occasions too. The editor could have been a lot more conscious as well.

Truly a magnificent Oscar-winning performance from de Havilland. Looks little older for the role but the way She transforms from innocent to ruthless is incredible. The music was annoying all the time but the scenes were so compelling and beautiful throughout... brilliantly directed by Wyler. The only flaw I felt was Clift's character being reduced to a bounty hunter and a cunning opportunist.
