Being a lover of the books and the original series I am torn. It deviates too much from the storyline and actually shifts character development to create pretty much a totally different story. Anne with an E series itself is enjoyable to watch, but it isn't close to Anne who was written by the original artist.

Ok so while it has the same name dont expect it to be like the books, and that's ok but you need to seperatevthe two. While I like the darker spin they gave to the series, Nancy lacks character development and comes off more as bratty and annoying. Bess is too much of a stereotypical rich comical airhead. There also lacks a believable emotional connection between Nick and Nancy. While I like the basic story lines, I feel the characters are flat. And somehow their version of supernatural stuff ( when the characters discuss it) come across as those B rated horror films. I liked the idea behind it ,but the writers need better scripts and the actors aren't convincing.
