Stellar companion to last years Tension album, Kylie’s sugary vocals continue to prove that you don’t need a big voice to make interesting and fun music. Boosting no less than 4 collaborations, including the infectious My Oh My and another pairing with Sia, the short runtime of the album is epic for its swiftness. An early highlight is Taboo, a magnificent ear worm that calls to mind the strings of her 2020 Covid-defying DISCO album. The sass continues and, whilst there’s nothing to whet the appetite quite like last year’s Padam, one of many iconic moments in an inexplicably underrated catalogue, there’s much to enjoy. Nothing outstays its welcome and several songs could benefit from an extra chorus or 2. However the 37 minute epilogue to Tension is the must buy record of the week.
