Decent game but L4D is where my heart is at and this just doesn't have the same spirit. It feels so damn dark to me and characters feel slow as hell like a brick bumbling along a z apocalypse. Yes I know there are things to increase your speed but I should feel light on my feet with a hatchet, not just slightly less lumbering. If this had been brought out without 4 in the title I would call this a pretty great game but as I was looking for that fun, L4D feel... I have the sensation of being fooled. I feel like the things that I really loved about the game are gone and the addition of weapon attachments, perk cards and everything else is just fluff L4D never needed. I'd probably play dying light or dead island instead if I want a gritty, dark zombie game with serious customization of weapons and abilities. The deck system just does not give me a feeling a progression in comparison to what exists in those games and even with terrible players on your team L4D could be hilarious fun where this just gets frustrating. There was just something to a ragtag group of no bodies living through an insane situation but still finding the gumption to banter that these survivor/cleaners just don't capture. Maybe I'm just getting old and haven't given it enough of a chance.

I used to really love this game. Despite it crashes, terrible servers and occasional evaporating bullets it was amazing. Then mercs season 8 came... Not three loot points of interest, just one of the 3. Slow and campy play isn't an option for folks new to the game anymore with the new airstrike mechanics... It's not the end of the world but a game that used to advertise as "survive" with combat being a secondary focus to some playstyles has been severely eroded by the new update.
