Only knocking off a star for the epilogue at the end. Film should have ended on the final shot of Superman, everything afterward was unnecessary. Was not a Zack Snyder fan. I respected the improvements that the Ultimate Cut of Batman V. Superman made, but considered the film still to be not that great. Thought Man of Steel was okay. Now that I've seen the ideas that Snyder had and what he wanted to do with those elements in his films, it is making me rethink my negative opinions towards them. Even when this cut of Justice League is at it's worst, its providing context for decision that I found odd in previous films. But when it is at it's best, it is the film I've wanted from Snyder for years. I've always loved the visuals he can produce, but thought the stories he told were, as everyone has said, too gritty for their own good. He seems to have embraced a hopefulness in this film that all his others have lacked. When you combine that with his visuals and the right amount of grit, you get a well-rounded story, set of characters, and overall film that finally seems to have found a tone and storyline which fits these characters and finally explains that the dour tones of previous films were so that these characters could fall before they rose. Never thought I would see a world where Cyborg was the emotional center of a film, but here we are. Glad Zack got to tell this story, he's earned a new fan.
