I had seen little blurbs about this movie here and there. Because it was kind of labeled as a horror movie I wasn't interested because today's horror movies are well, for lack of a better word...horrible. In any event, it came up as a new release so I read the details and it sounded interesting so I watched it. At first I thought it was going to be a story about slavery and that was the main plot. Boy was I ever wrong. This movie was phenomenal in my book. Yes there were foreshadowing moments, but when it clicks for you what just happened... your mind is blown. I am going to watch it again and I mentioned to my boyfriend that it was great and he should watch. Add in such fantastic females to play the roles like Janelle and Sibourney (sp) forget about it. It was refreshing to see a strong black woman as the lead in this movie. To be honest, Janelle deserves the Oscar for this one! With what is happening today in this messed up world of ours, it puts things into perspective for those watched and thought they knew it all about slavery and what black people had endured. We should praise the writers of this film and for me, I was rooting for Veronica the whole movie! Very much worth the watch. Only downfall a little too short with the time of the movie.
