I’m sure I would’ve liked the show had I not read the books. I’ve read the books multiple times over the years and fell in love with them. Seeing the books come to life in arc series I was excited until I actually saw it. Most of the episodes I had to fast forward because it was so different or cringeworthy. The series was totally different from the books and I hated that. When I think of a book series becoming a movie or tv show I think it should be as close to the story line as possible. I would’ve loved to see my favorite book series come to life the right way. I wished they had kept the idea of making them movies instead of a tv series. At least the movie followed 90% of the true story. Big plus for actors in the movies (minus the actor they had for Isabelle). Actors in the tv show we’re awful. Only plus about the tv show actors was the actors who played Simon. So happy they cancelled the series because it was just an awful adaptation.
