This is one of those movies that make you laugh and cry throughout. The acting was great and so was the writing. SPOILER WARNING I almost died laughing during the scene where the dad portray a condom with his arm. I would say this is my third favorite of the best picture nods.

I thought that this was an amazing movie! Sure, the accents were a little strong but I could decipher what the people were saying. I would watch it again. The editing with some parts being in color and the other part being black and white was eye catching. The intense cinematography during the riot scenes was amazing. Superb acting from everyone (usually I don't think children are good actors but I will make an exception here). I would eank this as my second favorite movie of 2021 behind Nightmare Alley.

This is a movie to be watched in the theater after reading the book. A tv screen doesn’t do enough credit for the visuals and the book makes up for the lack of character development. Do I believe that this is best picture worthy? Yes’nt. I say this mainly due to an issue previously mentioned, character development. If I had not read the book, I would not know anything about any of the characters. Other than that, Dune is a stunning masterpiece.

I really enjoyed this movie. One of my favorites of 2021. Great acting and cinematography throughout the movie. I also love the twist and poetic justice at the end. It was a great movie to see in theaters too. I don’t get all the hate for this movie. Out of all the best picture nods this year, I would say that this one is my favorite.

I can’t tell whether I enjoyed this movie (hence the 3 star rating). I thought that the acting was amazing but the story went nowhere. I only watched it because of all the awards it was nominated for (12 Oscars including best picture and best actor for Benedict Cumberbatch). It’s a movie that I only have to see once and never watch again. (SPOILER WARNING) The scenes between Peter and Phil were pretty creepy because I knew that Phil was gay and Peter was underage and also probably gay. I’m guessing that nothing happened between the two during the barn scene and I want it to stay that way.

I watched this movie on New Years Eve of 2020 and I did not enjoy it. I couldn’t hear any dialogue and I did not know what was happening. New Years Eve 2021 rolls around and I watch it with closed captioning because I wanted to understand it. After 2 hrs and 30mins, I actually enjoyed it. If you are going to watch this movie, do so with closed captions.

In my opinion, this is one of the greatest movies ever made. The acting is some of the best acting I have ever seen. It pins the antagonist against the antagonist, not the protagonist. Do not read farther if you have not seen this movie. There are spoiler alerts ahead. The beginning of the film makes you think that Daniel is indeed a good person but as the film unfolds, he is the complete and udder exact opposite. The abandonment of his son, the murder of an innocent man, and the murder of the second antagonist (the preacher).

This movie was terrible, horrible, God-awful. My favorite part was the end credits because it was finally over. It was stupid, all Finn did was yell “REY” the whole time, Palpatine living despite being thrown into the core of the Death Star, the kiss at the end, and Hux. O, Hux! You went from literally Space Hitler in The Force Awakens to a spy. I liked Adam Driver’s acting in this trilogy and he must have a shattered spine due to carrying the whole trilogy on his back. Another thing I didn’t like was how quick paced this was. People always insult the prequels for being quick paced and poorly written, but have these people seen The Rise of Skywalker? Star Wars should have ended at Revenge of the Sith. The whole story was complete with the final installment of the prequel trilogy but then, Disney happened . . . George Lucas wanted some cash . . . . Just watch if you wanna know what happens. You won’t enjoy it. You will just be glad that Disney’s butchered lambs that are the Star Wars sequels are over.

I would label this as my sixth favorite film of all time behind The Godfather, Citizen Kane, The Good the Bad and the Ugly, Psycho, and Saving Private Ryan. It is so strange yet interesting. And the fact that it was made before the moon landing is astonishing. It also reminds me that a film can be entertaining without a lot of dialogue. Directed by Stanley Kubrick, 2001: A Space Odyssey gets a five star rating.
