I'd never previously played any RPGs but I had to play a pre 2010 video game for a school project and chose this one because I'm interested in the Witcher fantasy world. I will definitely be playing the next two in the series. I liked that choices felt like they had consequences and I often sat back in my chair an pondered which option to select. The alchemy system is very intuitive and rewarding, levels are well laid out to encourage you to be efficient in where you go but not make getting from one place to another feel like a chore, and while combat seems incredibly simple it's actually very engaging; the combination of trying to time your attacks correctly, making sure you're using the right sword & style, and using signs adds up to a very engaging and well paced experience.
