The emotion written into the character in his final installment was an element I did not expect. It made James Bond real for me. Which made the film for me. On a lighter note, pay attention the number of elements from the franchise sprinkled in that were directly related to James. They were fun to pick out. Even down to the iconic clip of seeing Bond through the barrel of a gun as he turns and shoots, which is usually at he beginning of previous films. Here instead it appears in a real life sequence, just replace the barrel of a gun with a tunnel. These small things made this movie great for me. All of those things that were “James Bond” will not be used again. So the franchise now shifts from James Bond the person to 007 the agent. But “that is just a number”. I fear it will lose its way, but time will tell.
