What did I just watch?
A woke progressive anti-capitalist communist revolutionary manifesto, or a historical action movie?
I think they tried to make the Robin Hood story 'relevant' for today's times. They tried too hard, and it showed. Clunky, in-your-face political messaging and preaching that just became wearisome.
It wasn't totally bad, but it wasn't good either. We don't always demand total historical accuracy, Costner's Robin Hood being an excellent case in point, but it would be nice to watch a movie with some tension, some moments of true emotion, and maybe even a little charm here and there.
Not even the much lamented late Alan Rickman, the one true Sheriff of Nottingham, could have made this steaming turd of a movie smell fresher.
