With all the controversy and political "wokeness" with The Chicks over the last several years, I was a little apprehensive that this offering would just be political dribble under the guise of music. I was VERY PLEASANTLY surprised and impressed. The collaboration with Jack Antonoff is a great one and this is one great album. Instead of political themes, it expertly expresses the deep emotional issues of infidelity, divorce, and resiliency, as well as having to help your children through the trauma and pain of parents divorcing. There is, of course, reference to the current political climate and unrest with, "March March", but it is very well done and in no way off-putting. Think along the lines of early Tracy Chapman. Great vocal harmonies as one would expect from this group.
