really disappointed by the book. this premise is pretty good. Our heroine Victoria has to go back to her mothers homeland of England after her parents died with her sister but her hoping that her soon to be fiancé who is on tour in Europe will come to England and find her. Victoria is immediately separated from her sister and her sister becomes such a background character that I wonder why the author even wrote in her having a sister at all to begin with. She meets our love interest Jason who because of marriage of convenience reasons she marries. The books climax and ending are very anti-climactic. The pay off with her relationship with Andrew and her choosing Jason is very disappointing and the book has a very abrupt ending to the point where I was like that literally can't be in it can't and looked for more pages. Extremely disappointing. Judith is a very good writer she has a much better books in this when you can totally pass on this one.

Really disappointed in the casting of this movie especially considering Lin's casting for Hamilton. I’m really disappointed in how a movie about a bunch of dominicans has like a single dominican and a single afro latina (dascha polanco ) as if dr isn’t 75% black. There wasn’t an ounce of diversity in the cast but almost all the background actors black. Where is the proper representation in that? Why are none of the main cast afro latino in a story that is supposed to center on a dominican neighborhood? Race issues aside the story was better in the original musical they really dumbed down abuela Claudia's character and completely removed Camilla. Honestly don't waste your time on this one its just a bunch of non black latinos forcing a spanish accent.
