This book is one of the best cricket autobiographies. We get to know more than just a life of a cricket player. This book mainly focuses on bts of cricket field and deals more with mentally than physically. We get to know more about faf- the person, more than just an athlete.It also lays emphasis on the culture,spirituality,mindset and mainly the concept of ubuntu. We do also get to know about the South African ways of dealing with everyday highs and lows. Anyone who is interested in a slow burn autobiography which deals with more off the field than on the field and the struggles that come to play at the highest level in the sport...then this book is for you.

A captivating read. A psychological thriller which feels like a mind boggling read especially the last 50 pages. You just skim through the pages feeling the intensity of the story. A good read if you are into crime thrillers.

Absolutely loved it. Michael Gates Gill's life story was a lesson that I remember. Being the most hate-able character to being the loved one. The book is indeed "People do change" type sort of book. Loved every single page and life lessons learnt.

A pacy story which deals with revenge in all forms. The character development is good but lacked a bit of depth in some characters. A very disturbing flashback episode which we feel some sought of emotion towards the characters but later moving forward..it's just taking revenge. The ending is also very unreasonable. It totally feels like incompletely complete. Thought there would be an aftermath sought of thing after the ending but disappointed at last. The positives that can be taken are just the pacing of the story and the emotion that we feel towards the characters. Finally this book is a story that feels like we're going to have some kind of twists and turns but nothing as much as it is when we come to the end of it.

A great book with so much to know about the other side (apart from cricket) of AB de Villiers..a legend of the game. His up's and downs, childhood, the values and morals etc.., Anyone keen to know about more can deep dive into his incredible journey filled with great respect and gratitude he had towards the game and a great way to know someone apart from only one perception.

A good read. The book lays emphasis on destiny, following one's dream and soul of the world. My view on this 'Alchemist' book is that most of it is engaging, but in some parts of the story seemed to be tiring. It is indeed a great book we often don't come across. The Alchemist (the character) is the catalyst of the story and until this character is not introduced, the main character (the boy) seems to be withering. This book is also divided into two parts- 1 and 2. Where part one seems to be short and sweet and like an introduction. But part two fits most of the story and new characters are introduced. We don't get any details in depth with these characters and some in my view seems to be incomplete. Apart from that, this is altogether a different type of book which deals with some rare topics such as, what is the reason of human existence etc.., On a whole 4/5 this is a complete twister of a story until the very end and a must read.

Just finished reading it and I absolutely loved it. An ancient relic in this generation(as stated in the book) type of book is filled with all kinds of emotions. The characters development is simply well-written. Although there are only a limited number of characters, they complete the character arc. At first it felt like a bit slow-paced and then once the other characters were introduced then it feels engaging. The story moves to and fro with changing of present and past situations. There are few sentences which the writer uses it at the start of every chapter and gives the explanation and uses the same exact sentence at the end of the chapter which I very much liked it. Finally, a 5/5 heartwarming book. A book which completes a Full circle and leaves you with misty eyes at last.
