Yes, yes, yes! This is just what it was for me growing up! I love this show! This is an absolutely beautiful depiction of family life! Both parents are highly intelligent and super loving toward each other. No more dumb Dads please! So often, they make the black mom smart while the black father is either super immature or just a dimwit. The kids are amazing and very realistic! My parents were just like that. They set high standards for us, carefully navigating the racism, while still nurturing our hope for change. They were cool, very stern, and yet understanding. Oh, and the backyard parties were just like that! Life was fun back in "B.C.". times..."B.C." meaning, Before Crack.
